Notion Updates: Home Hub, Push Notifications & More

A few days ago, Notion has released their first video release note of the year.

The video includes some more amazing updates that I believe will make your work even smoother.

I’m really excited to see some of them.

So, let’s cut the chatter and dive in.

1. Home

Firstly, Notion has introduced a feature called “Home”.

This is your go-to place to find recent pages, tasks and trending content across your workspace.

Imagine having everything you need right at your fingertips.

It’s like your personal assistant, helping you stay organized and efficient!

Besides, there’s a new feature in “Home” called “My Tasks”.

You don’t have to juggle tasks across different pages.

It’s all consolidated in one place now.

This feature will be rolled out to everyone over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!

2. Buttons for Databases

If you have read my previous newsletters, you already know these useful automation buttons in databases.

(If you haven’t, you can read it here: with real-life examples if how you can make use of it.)

3. Creator Dashboard

Are you a template creator who has been submitting templates to Notion?

Notion has something special for you too.

They’ve introduced a dashboard for managing your templates and public profile.

You can customize it with a cover photo, pin your top templates, and even add custom screenshots and videos.

4. Shorten URLs

They’ve also shortened long URLs in databases.

No more messy pages filled with lengthy links.

However, if you still want to see the whole URL, you can adjust it in the property settings.

5. Push Notifications

For those of you who are always on the move, Notion’s mobile apps now allow you to take actions from push notifications.

You can reply, mark notifications as read, or archive them without opening the app.

Plus, they’ve added a feature to swipe to delete or favorite your pages on the iOS Home tab.

6. Database UX improvements

Notion updates: hide / show page icon

Last but not least, Notion has spruced up the user experience for databases.

You can now hide page icons in all views and hide weekends on calendar view.

That’s about it for now!

I’m excited to see how these enhancements will streamline your workflow.

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, happy Notion-ing!
